ChatHealth

ChatHealth messaging services are now being offered by around 40% of health visiting services in England, offering more choice of access and convenience for parents and carers of babies and children under 5 to reach their local health visitors.

The parents and carers of almost 2 million 0-5 year-olds live in areas where they can contact health visitors by text, this is in addition to the parents and carers of over 1.5 million 0-19 year-olds who also have access.

Health visitors are using ChatHealth to :

  • deliver earlier intervention (therefore preventing unnecessary visits to GPs and A&E)
  • offer greater choice of access
  • extend reach to reduce inequalities
  • work more efficiently as a healthcare team

Parents and carers of babies and children under five can discover an array of health information, from pregnancy through to the child starting school, on the Health for Under 5s website.

Alongside expert written national content, we are working with 7 NHS partners to publish information on advice and events in Local Areas and provide details about local health visiting services and specialist support services

Health for Under 5sHealth for Under 5s  supports prospective parents as well as parents and carers of children aged 0-5. It contains advice and information from trusted NHS professionals to support them through their child’s early years.

In the Local Area section, parents and carers can access advice articles written by local NHS services and find local events. Parents and carers can also use the service finder to locate services in their area relevant to what stage they’re at.

Local Areas on Health for Under 5s are available for:

  • Devon (new in 2021-2022)
  • Hampshire
  • Hertfordshire
  • Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland
  • Nottinghamshire
  • Solihull (new in 2021-2022)
  • Warwickshire (new in 2021-2022)
